The Port Townsend Education Foundation (PTEF) has recently granted over $25,000 into PT school classrooms for the 2010-2011 school year alone! In addition to those monies, we are very excited to announce the availability of our new “Innovator’s Grant” for up to $10,000! Also, one more “Signature Grant” for up to $5,000 remains available, making over $40,000 available for 2010-2011. We are now accepting applications for the two remaining grants. The deadline for these applications is September 30, 2010.
The purpose of the PTEF is to make funds available to all public schools in the Port Townsend School District for innovative and creative projects that enhance or expand the curriculum and help fulfill the PTEF mission. These projects are to be consistent with District priorities, grade level targets and Washington State EALRs. Grant applications may support individual classroom projects, projects that benefit a specific grade level, or projects that support a school, or the entire district.
These grants are not intended to duplicate nor replace core curriculum; but instead, to enhance and provide opportunities to which our students may not otherwise have access. We welcome applications that receive co-funding with other granting agencies such as Rotary, PTSA, Maritime Center, etc.
The $5K Signature Grant application and a separate application for the $10K Innovators’ Grant can be downloaded using the links below. We look forward to reading your creative ideas, and we thank you for helping us to bridge the gap between the basic funding of Washington State and what our district needs to have our students truly excel. For questions regarding either application, email Barbara Sterritt at the contact email listed here.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors
Port Townsend Education Foundation
